Latin music legend-and native New Yorker-Johnny Colon will revisit his salsa and boogaloo roots when he performs with his orchestra at Le Poisson Rouge on Wed. April 25. Taking place at the home of the former famed Village Gate, where Colon and his orchestra used to perform some of the club’s longest-running sets, the evening will also feature Latin boogaloo specialist DJ Turmix spinning vinyl-only sets, and an opening set by NYC's hot young boogaloo band Spanglish Fly, and will benefit the East Harlem Music School. The show will also serve as a preview of Johnny Colon and DJ Turmix's appearance at Lincoln Center's Midsummer Night Swing in July 2012. The evening will include giveaways for Midsummer Night Swing passes and tickets for Johnny Colon and DJ Turmix at Lincoln Center Midsummer Night Swing this summer.
